The purpose of this inititiative is to foster diversity, inclusion, and equity within the Concord school district. Our mission is to advocate for a more inclusive educational system that empowers historically disadvantaged students and ensures their success. 

GOALS

Our primary goals revolve around promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and a sense of belonging within the school system. To achieve this, we have identified key areas of focus: 

1. Enhancing the English Language Learner (ELL) program: We aim to advocate for a comprehensive system that enables ELL students to thrive and access advanced learning opportunities. Our priority is to create ample space within ELL programs to accommodate immigrant and refugee students, providing them with the education and safe environments they deserve. 

2. Fostering inclusivity through clubs and activities: We believe that all students should have the opportunity to thrive together, celebrating cultural differences. To achieve this, we encourage active participation in various clubs and activities that embrace diversity. Additionally, we strive to ensure that sports and other extracurricular activities promote multicultural development and inclusivity. 

3. Promoting a diverse faculty and staff: Recognizing the importance of representation, we advocate for a diverse faculty and staff within the school system. We strongly urge the school board to prioritize the hiring of teachers and professionals who possess experience and understanding of cultural differences. By doing so, we can create an environment that embraces and respects the diverse backgrounds of our students. 

4. Addressing transportation disparities: We believe that all students should have equal access to public transportation services across the district. To achieve this, we will collaborate with school officials, the community, and the school board to improve public transportation options, especially for minority students who currently lack access. Additionally, we aim to identify a safer and more accessible location for Rundlett Middle School, ensuring a conducive learning environment for all students. 

5. Respecting religious diversity: We emphasize the importance of representing students with different faiths. Change for Concord is dedicated to ensuring that all religious backgrounds are respected and represented within the school system.
